Esaí Alfredo (b. Yabucoa, Puerto Rico) is a painter whose work draws heavily from movies to explore themes of identity, memory, and desire. Rooted in early drawings that reimagined cinematic scenes, Alfredo's practice blends illustration and painting to create emotionally charged, narrative-rich compositions.
He studied at Escuela Especializada en Bellas Artes Anita Otero and trained at Atelier San Juan under Luis Borrero and Amber Lia-Kloppel, before earning his BFA in Illustration and Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2020.
Alfredo has exhibited solo presentations at The Armory Show, Art Basel Miami Beach and Expo Chicago with Spinello Projects, as well as at Embajada Gallery in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Institute of Contemporary Art (Miami, FL), Pérez Art Museum (Miami, FL), JP Morgan Chase Art Collection, among others.
